| The Business programme leading to the BA (Hons) in
Business Administration of Staffordshire University is a 3-year
full-time course for those entering with 'A' Level, or equivalent.
The course is designed to take you from an introductory level to
the degree through 3 levels. You will study business in the context

business strategies and functions. You will be able to gain a degree

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aim of this Programme is to develop students
with business and technological knowledge and skill to better cope
with the modern day business environment. The
Business course equips students to understand and apply business
techniques and administration strategies and also develops the capacity
to apply information technology to the solution of business problems.
The modules are designed not only to develop practical skills, but
also the ability to work effectively in a group in a disciplined
and structured environment.
Particular emphasis is placed, especially
in the final year, on developing entrepreneurial capability. The
subjects offered support this approach in business for both start-up
business activity and longer-term business management of small,
medium and large-scale enterprises.
Typical careers for graduates may be
in any functional area of business such as marketing, sales, brand
management, personnel management, operations, or any other area

| PROGRESSION
Your first step towards obtaining the Honors degree
starts with studying for the APIIT Diploma. Externally moderated
to ensure international quality standards, the Diploma prepares
your skills and knowledge either to immediately enter the workforce
or to progress directly to the second Level of an Honors Degree. |

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

| Candidates
must demonstrate that they meet Part 2 pre-requisites, and have at least
one of the following: |

Completed, or been exempted from the
APIIT Foundation Level. |

2 passes at A Level, and
4 grade B passes at 'O' Level/GCSE, including English and Mathematics;
or |

 |
An overall B grade in Intermediate with English
and Mathematics; |

A qualification that The APIIT accepts as
equivalent to the above. |

| Direct Entry Level 2 |
| Admission into Level 2 of the B.A. (Hons)
degrees is through: |

Successful completion of the APIIT
Diploma; or |

Successful completion of
studies in another recognised institute with academic credit
equivalent to Part 2 of an Honors degree in Computing. |

25 and without the minimum qualifications, admission is at the discretion

EXAMINATIONS & ASSESSMENTS
A range of assessment methods are used which include
formal examinations, class tests, assignments, case studies and
projects.
The B.A. (Hons) in Business Administration is awarded by Staffordshire
University, UK. The degree is also subject to moderation by Staffordshire
University Examiners and UK University Examiners external to Staffordshire
University.
The examinations of Level 1, forming the APIIT
Diploma in Business with IT, are externally moderated by Examiners
from Staffordshire University, UK.

COURSE STRUCTURE
The modules in the Foundation Level develop your skills
for business and learning while you learn about Business and the
power of IT. Level 1 modules develop your understanding and focus
on the main functional areas of all Businesses - Marketing, Accounting,
Operations, Management of People, and the economic and legal context
in which businesses operate while also developing your programming
skills alongside your knowledge of Multimedia and the Internet.
Modules in Level 2 and 3 provide the opportunity to
apply these skills to business administration while you also develop
the ability to manage a business and to exploit business opportunities
with IT.
Graduates are likely to find employment in any functional
area of business and be equipped to start a business. Whichever
the career, graduates of this course will have the IT edge, as compared
to others, having developed the ability to use IT tools effectively
in their daily work.
The practical nature of this course enables graduates
to develop strategies towards the achievement of business objectives
through the strategic utilisation of technology. |
